Community College Conference: Professional Development and Solidarity
Community college educators from all around New York State gathered in Cooperstown November 8-10 for a weekend of learning and networking organized by NYSUT. Among those were representatives of our local, President Kay Chester and Negotiating Team members Jerry Brown and Maryanne Taverne. In addition to attending a number of informative workshops and seminars, they met with MVCC colleagues from the Professional Association as well as colleagues from other adjunct and part-time locals around the state.
APA Union Charter Presented at Leadership Conference

President Kay Chester and Negotiating Team member Maryanne Taverne accepted our new union's charter at the NYSUT Regional Leadership Conference in Alexandria Bay on October 5. The conference was attended by 170 NYSUT leaders, who joined unanimously in a standing ovation of welcome and congratulations for our new local.

This ostensibly caring e-mail was sent from a vicious wolf in sheep’s clothing.
